Khao Takiab restaurants and dining
Over the last couple of years the number of restaurants in Khao Takiab has increased dramatically. There are at least ten small local bamboo type places on the main road that offer good cheap Thai food and all of the big hotels and resorts have their own restaurants for those that like to splash out a little.
Good Friends has an outdoor garden and a good menu offering Thai and Western food at reasonable prices, you can also get draught beer there. Supatra is an upmarket place on the beach that is very popular with the Bangkok crowd at the weekends and La Mer round by the temple is also a popular restaurant offering great views over Hua Hin from your dinner table. Rua Rimtarn is a unique place that has been built in the shape of a boat.
On the beach
There are plenty of restaurants on the beach behind Khao Takiab hill however prices tend to be a little higher here. Most offer sun loungers also for 50 baht per day.
Jim Seafood (right) is a popular place on the beach at the end of the first soi after the hill, follow the signs to the elephant camp.
You should make a visit at least once to Khao Takiab to try the many and varied eateries that have sprung up. Quite often, they can be great value and somewhat less espensive than Hua Hin. Check out our forum board for views on Takiab restaurants.
